About the Position:

APSBO (Asia Pacific Service Business Organization) is responsible for identifying, evaluating and determining new opportunities within the digital media and advertising industry with the goal of creating scalable services and businesses on top of the global footprint of Samsung Smart TVs. The APAC advertising team is working to create value for partners, advertisers, and agencies through its unique insights into TV viewership in the shifting media landscape.


We are looking for a confident individual with strong finance and commercial analytic experience who understands the importance of communication, solutions and delivery. The Financial Analytics Manager will report directly to the Head of Operations based Sydney. He/she will work closely across Sales, Ad Operations, Business Development, Marketing, other regional Fin & Biz Ops teams, Headquarters, subsidiary Finance Teams, HR, Legal and procurement teams to drive revenue and ROI using data driven insights, as well as champion process improvement opportunities across the business. This role will support Australia and NZ, as well as SE Asia markets (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines).

Role and Responsibilities


Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 



  • Manage onboarding of ASPBO and other regions onto the global BI tool (DOMO), including project management and testing of data sets. This includes the centralisation of all ops data into a new UDW
  • Develop world class reporting dashboards that measure KPI’s, alongside developing benchmarks and sales targets. Combine data from multiple data sources (both internal and external)
  • Automate the monthly generation of content partner revenue share and TV Plus reporting, including the transition to real time reporting within DOMO


Sales Finance: Revenue and Yield Management

  • Develop yield management and discount reporting framework. Establish an automated pricing tool for new products including the periodic review of discounts, yield and pricing refinements
  • Develop new sales targeting methodology, including the management of targets at an individual level. Assist with quarterly sales commission submissions
  • Develop and maintain the TV plus driver based forecasting model, including integration into the local business unit P&L
  • Develop, automate and maintain KPI that drive business performance. Ensure timely and accurate metrics are created and reported for senior management as part of the QBR Cycle. This includes productivity, yield and benchmarking performance to internal and external peers - draw insights on data to make recommendations on how this can be improved
  • Approve pricing approvals in O1


Commercial Analysis/Strategic Planning

  • Track and forecast return on investment for content partner deals including completing profitability and break-even analysis as required
  • Develop financial models and analytical frameworks to assess optimal business outcomes and analyze various business scenarios to solve problems and improve executive decision-making. This spans investment decisions with vendors and customers
  • Support the monthly, annual planning cycle and strategic planning cycle as required



  • Develop and present ad-hoc reports and presentations with actionable recommendations
  • Drive continuous improvement across business operations and financial operations, and assist where required
  • Drive adoption of local best practise to other regions including India and Latin America in particular, and support with training as required



Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience Required:

  • 10+ years Advanced Excel skills including a deep understanding of formulas and macros including VBA
  • 10+ years Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc
  • 5+ years Advanced SQL skills (or equivalent database querying language)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a similar role in within media industry
  • 5+ years’ experience working with BI tools such as DOMO or Tableau
  • 3+ yearsexperience in statistical software (SAS, R etc)
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Finance, or related field. MBA preferred
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizations
  • Self-motivated, assertive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Project Management experience a plus
